The Body Abstracted
Grade 7
Artists have been abstracting the human form since the very first time a person decided to create a work of art— but why? Is something deeper expressed in abstraction?
While studying the ways in which the human body has been abstracted and exaggerated in ancient Anatolian sculpture, we are going to make our own abstract clay sculptures that communicate our passions or values by exaggerating the body parts involved in our passion. Looking at the fun examples of sculptures created by fellow students, can you guess what their passions are?
