How do changes in science and technology affect art?
When Johannes Gutenberg introduced the printing press to Europe and invented movable type, the world was forever changed. Before the printing press, books (and artwork) were painstakingly created by hand— imagine how long that would take! With this new technology, ideas and information became more accessible and spread rapidly as text and art became easy to reproduce, playing a major role in the Renaissance.
Since we are lucky to have our very own press, you have the opportunity during our Renaissance unit to create your own series of prints based on one of your contour drawings.
