Fracture
Grade 10
This is a brief and simple introduction to the ideas behind Cubism, a movement in which artists like Picasso and Braque rejected traditional concepts of perspective, light, and shadow. They fractured images and challenged how three-dimensional objects were represented on two-dimensional surfaces.
Unleash your inner Cubist— break the rules and play with shape, contrast, composition, and rhythm!
(We will be doing this in class, but the task sheet has steps to follow if you would like to make your own Cubist composition at home)
