A Mouse in the Art House!
There was something odd about Grade 8’s egg tempera pieces on Tuesday morning…
Little nibble marks were taken out of the edges of each artist’s piece! And the culprit really took a liking to Melek’s hair. This was not the first time I have found evidence of a mouse in the Art House— actually, it was three weeks ago that my homeroom found two dead ones in the corners of the room. So it appears that the living mice who are still making themselves cosy in our space are snacking on artwork now. Luckily Grade 8 didn’t seem to mind painting over the nibbles, and some even decided to leave them as decoration.
I wonder, could we create a piece in “collaboration” with the mice? Paint a design on a surface with egg tempera for the mice to chew, and the rest of the piece could be kept safe in acrylic? Hmm…
