Learn a new skill to keep someone warm

IICS’s first ever Knitting Circle met for the first time last week to learn how to knit scarves for the children of Syrian refugees in Istanbul. Thanks to the expertise and talents of Mrs. Lumsden and Ms. Kaplangı, we’ve started about ten scarves— and I just learned that Mrs. Lumsden finished one this weekend— wow! Once completed, all the scarves we make will be donated to Caritas, the non-profit refugee outreach organisation downtown that we will be working with on International Day.
