It’s All About Process

When looking at a work of art on display, people are quite often unaware of the amount of time and effort that went into its creation. Artists might make it look easy, but think of all years of skill development, the sketches and research— think of how many times that artist failed, only to pick themselves back up and try again until they got it.

Through photographs and their art journals, DP Visual Arts students document this process of learning, experimenting and failing, which is compiled into to their Process Portfolio— one of three final assessments at the end of their two-year course. This portfolio is weighted equally to their final exhibition, making the journey just as important as the end product.
